I’m happy to announce that A Sorcerer’s Diplomacy, the third book in the Song of Sorcery is now available on Amazon kindle. The paperback will be out in mid-march. If you’d like to get a copy you can at this link: Amazon
Here is the blurb:
Back at Doubli Academy, Ricky finds new acquaintances and a new pastime. However, all is not bliss as circumstances converge making it impossible to avoid confronting his nemesis, Duke Noacci, the man Ricky suspects of killing his parents. While on a school break, he finds himself in the middle of two powers ready to go to war. Ricky must make life-altering decisions as he struggles to save himself and his new friends.
The editing is about complete. The cover is done. Most of the manuscript technical work is finished. A Sorcerer’s Diplomacy is due out at the end of the week (sometime between February 22nd and February 26th.)
The book was fun to write especially a new character, alluded to in the first books is brought to life.
By the way, I’m already more than a third finished with book four, A Sorcerer’s Rings.
I thought I’d let everyone know that the first draft of A Sorcerer’s Diplomacy was finished a minute ago. Whew! I’d say it’s a pretty complete first draft, so I don’t expect any major changes as I start my rewrites tomorrow.
Ricky’s story starts out a bit slowly, but as events rise and fall, everything heats up for an exciting end. So, on to rewrites!
I am happy to announce that A Sorcerer Imprisoned is done and in the process of being available for sale on Amazon. I am working on Book Three’s plotting and will start drafting right after Christmas. It is scheduled for release before the end of February.
Here is the official blurb:
Ricky Valian always dreaded the Juvenile Home in the city of Applia. Killing a member of the Council of Notables is enough to sentence him for a stay. The lord’s widow is anxious for revenge and Ricky has to scramble to stay ahead of people out seeking revenge. While there are strange things going on at the Home that will put him in peril, he finds a priceless treasure long forgotten at the Home. Can he stay alive long enough to save it?
The link to the book is here.
My manuscript has one more edit to go and the manuscript is in her hands. So, while I wait, I’ve approved the cover. This scene comes towards the end of the story.
Draft is done. First outside edit is complete with one more to go. A before-Christmas release is looking pretty good. I’ll have a cover reveal in the next week along with the final back-cover blurb.
As I am winding down A Sorcerer Imprisoned, I am putting together the next book, A Sorcerer’s Diplomacy. Ricky finishes his second year at the Academy and is asked to spend the summer at another student’s estate on an island country. Events escalate and Ricky is reluctantly called on to intervene.
This one is scheduled to be out by the end of February. I want this one finished by then since I’ll be spending the first week in March in France on a long-overdue european vacation.
I had a good start on my draft of Sorcerer Imprisoned, but the month slid by. I finally finished the weekend before Thanksgiving and I’ve gone through the first rewrite. This novel might be a touch smaller than the first, but there is lots of action since most of it takes place inside the Applia Juvenile Home.
I hope to hand it off to my editor by the end of next week (December 2nd) with the anticipation of a Christmas Eve release. That might not happen with the holiday festivities, but it’s my goal.
It’s a race to Christmas!
At last, my new series, Song of Sorcery, gets its first installment published. A Sorcerer Rises is done and ready for reading on Amazon. Here is the final cover. With the help of some friends, I tweaked the original below. I’m in the middle of drafting the next book, A Sorcerer Imprisoned. You can see the difference between my first version of the cover and the final product.
Here is the blurb:
Bound to a cruel grandfather, thirteen-year-old Ricky Valian is an orphan and a thief. Compelled to steal a valuable item in a public place, Ricky uses the only trick he knows, a magic trick. His crime doesn’t go unobserved. The Dean of Doubli Academy witnesses the theft and recognizes Ricky’s latent talent, volunteering to become Ricky’s guardian at the boy’s trial. Ricky finds himself, unlettered and untutored in sorcery, in a place filled with students. As he struggles with his unexpected circumstances, Ricky becomes a target of a vicious bully, who may not be above taking the life of someone who gets in his way.
FANTASY – EPIC / SWORD & SORCERY / YOUNG ADULT
Here it is… The cover for the first book of the Song of Sorcery Series. I had a different title in mind for the first book, but I changed my mind and came up with the title of A Sorcerer Rises. The books in the series will start with A Sorcerer *something*.
The scene is not in the book, but it’s more of a representation of thirteen-year-old Hendrico (Ricky) Valian pondering what his life holds. Ricky does own a rowboat in the book and lives on a river at the beginning. There might be a tweak or two before the final version, but I think this is pretty much how the cover will appear.
